Our First Donation to NAMI
A year ago around Mental Health Awareness Month, Chokehold Cosmetics was just an idea with a vision behind it.
Today, we’re proud to share that we are making our first donation of $200 to National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
From the beginning, part of the vision behind Chokehold was always bigger than makeup. We wanted to build a brand centered around confidence, self-expression, self-awareness, and creating products that help people feel more connected to themselves.
As a growing brand, we haven’t hit all the milestones or sales goals we originally hoped for yet. But this was something important enough to us that we didn’t want to wait for a “perfect moment” to start honoring the promise we made from the beginning.
Part of this donation is also coming directly from me personally because this mission genuinely means a lot to me.
To us, giving back is not about trying to look good as a company. It’s about building something with purpose behind it. Mental health affects so many people in ways we may never fully see, and we believe support, awareness, education, and community all play a role in helping people grow into stronger versions of themselves.
This is only the beginning.
As Chokehold grows, we hope our ability to give back grows with it. We hope to continue supporting initiatives connected to mental health, personal growth, education, and community support because all of these things go hand in hand.
One of the most beautiful things a person can be is fully themselves. Beauty starts within.
